Thomand Gate Peated Bourbon

Limerick based Thomond gate have announced the release of a unique single cask Single Pot Still Irish whiskey. Hlymrekr Saga is a single cask bottling bottled at cask strength of 60.63% ABV. In a world’s first, this has been finished in a Cask that once held Danish Rye Whisky from Stauning Distillery Denmark. What makes this Staunings Distillery whiskey special, is the floor malted Danish Barley and Rye, this is then Distilling using Copper Pot Stills with direct heat and cooled with a worm coil condenser, this gives the whiskey a wonderful character expressed in layers of flavors.
